1985 Corbin 39
We have a center cockpit pilothouse ketch Corbin 39. Corbin built 199 hulls, of that, 184 were owner finished- we have one of the factory finished. In saying that, with Corbins you never know what to expect on the inside...it was all preference to owner. With the Factory finish boat all work done by Corbin was exceptional. I absolutely love our lay out: Multi level, spacious, tons of storage, a great size cockpit, big galley, 2 cabin and walkthrough berth for our tiniest crew member, Rio. The Corbin 39 is a double ender in the classic Scandinavian lineage of serious offshore cruisers. She is a tank one day we will put her to the test when we cross oceans!!
We named her "Kalani"- Kalani means Sea and Sky or "The Heavens" . When we are out sailing with no land in sight and the sea meets the sky and we don't know where one ends and the other begins it feels like Heaven!
Kalani is more than just a boat. She is our tiny floating home. We have done a lot of work to her since buying her in Trinidad in 2014. She was on the hard for 3 years and a lot of systems needed to be put back in place and working order...that's Luuck's job. My job was more a decorative/ cosmetic aspect. We have put in a lot of upgrades to her as well, solar and a water maker for example. Buying a boat that needs some TLC you have the opportunity to make it yours. And that's just what we did...we made her ours. We absolutely love our boat and the memories we are making with her!
I know I for one LOVE looking inside boats so here are some pictures of our tiny floating home...
